Internship & Volunteer Opportunity
We are currently seeking volunteers and summer interns for a unique opportunity to build relationships between the United States, Africa, and the Caribbean Islands. We welcome anyone interested, whether college students or not, in fields such as international relations, diplomacy, international business, humanitarian work, or those simply looking to occupy their time during the summer of 2024, from May 1st to July 30th.
Benefits of participation include exclusive complimentary tickets to some or all of our summer events, recognition, including academic credits for your work. Moreover, you will become part of an exclusive club dedicated to reshaping the image of the United States in Africa and the Caribbean Islands as a liberator, not an imperialist. As Americans, we have an obligation to ensure U.S. global leadership by exemplifying the ideals of our founding fathers who sacrificed their lives to build this great nation.
Responsibilities include fundraising, promotion, administrative tasks, legislative outreach, ticket sales, welcoming guests from Africa and the Caribbean Islands, ushering, and assisting with other tasks as needed. At ARF, our goal is to promote the positive image of the United States globally, particularly in Africa and the Caribbean Islands. We believe the United States is the best option for changing the narrative of Africa and the Caribbean Islands from the least developed regions of the world to advanced societies in the 21st century, under the theme "Prosperity for All." In a democratic society, governments come and go, but the people remain the same and want to be free from the fear of people who do not look like them or believe in the same values as we do, often created by political maneuvering and shenanigans.
We are dedicated to promoting cooperation between the people of Africa, the Caribbean Islands, and the United States. We believe, as Americans, we have an obligation to promote peace, tranquility, equality, human rights, and economic prosperity for all, which are the basic foundations of democracy. We will never remain global leaders if we do not play a leadership role in maintaining peace and economic prosperity for all through soft power. Hence, we need your help in reshaping our international order by promoting U.S. soft power.
Join us by interning or volunteering with us this summer in promoting U.S. strategic global leadership through soft power. Become part of the team transforming U.S. relationships with the developing world by sending a resume and a cover letter describing why you feel you are the best candidate for this position to [ARF2024volunteer@africanrenaissancefoundation.org].
Scholarship Application
The US Africa and Caribbean Business Forum and Cultural Festival 2024 is committed to offering scholarships to individuals from Africa and the Caribbean, with a particular focus on NGOs, civic leaders, small businesses, and traditional leaders. To apply, please submit a 500-word essay in a Microsoft Word document detailing why you should be chosen to participate in ARF 2024, dedicated to promoting US strategic interests in Africa and the Caribbean Islands. Your essay should include your perspective on promoting US strategic interests in Africa if you are from the continent of Africa, or the Caribbean Islands if you are from that region. Additionally, describe how your participation will enhance the goals of ARF 2024, what you hope to achieve from your involvement, and how you plan to utilize the experience and knowledge gained from the event to further promote US strategic interests in Africa and the Caribbean Islands. Disclaimer: Submitting a scholarship application does not guarantee qualification or grant you the scholarship to attend the conference. All scholarship decisions will be contingent on 1) availability of funding, 2) need, and 3) the quality of your essay. We encourage potential applicants to pay special attention to the content, as we recognize that there may be challenges, especially for non-native English speakers. Therefore, the scholarship reviewer will place emphasis on the content of the essay rather than solely on grammar. However, it is still important to make an effort to meet basic English grammar standards. All scholarship applications must be submitted by April 30, 2024, at [Scholarship@africanrenaissancefoundation.org]. If you are selected, you will be notified by May 10, 2024, with the necessary information to facilitate your travel.
